The Cornhuskers have consistently been one of the premier teams in the Big 12 since the inception of the conference. The men and women have combined to win 22 conference titles in 12 years, with each placing second at the 2008 Indoor Championships. Nebraska is led by 2008 NCAA Indoor Champion and four-time All-American high jumper Dusty Jonas. Jonas won the NCAA title with a school-record jump of 2.31 meters (7 feet, 7 inches). The Cornhuskers had four athletes earn indoor All-America honors and set 28 regional qualifying marks at their opening outdoor meet.

Oklahoma State has already had nine athletes post regional qualifying marks. The Cowgirls have a stronghold in the Big 12 Conference’s 5,000-meter run. Freshman Mihaela Susa leads the conference in the 5,000-meter run with her time of 16.31.30 at Princeton on April 4, while two of her teammates also rank in the top-five. Junior Merritt Dietz recently set the school record in the discus and now ranks third in the Big 12. In all, Oklahoma State boasts 13 women that rank within the top-10 of the Big 12 in their respective events.
