LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas Athletics, the City of Lawrence, Downtown Lawrence, Inc., the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce and the Convention and Visitors Bureau have joined forces to provide a full day of activities surrounding the Kansas football spring game Saturday, April 24.

The game, which is free to the public, will take place at Kivisto Field at Memorial Stadium at 1 p.m., and will give Jayhawk fans an opportunity to see first-year head coach Turner Gill’s team wrap up its spring workouts.

Fans can sit on the west side of the stadium and all of the west-side gates will open at noon. All parking lots around the stadium will be open. The ticket office on the west side will be open for season ticket sales from 10:30 a.m. through halftime.

The game is the centerpiece of a day full of activities, including a bike helmet fair, the HyVee Hawk Zone in two locations, a halftime drug-free pledge, an autograph session and an afternoon of entertainment in downtown Lawrence. The HyVee Hawk Zone includes fun activities for kids, including inflatables and games.

Kansas Athletics will have giveaways, including t-shirts, posters and magnets. In addition, wrist bands will be distributed as part of the halftime drug-free pledge elementary students can make with Coach Gill and Kansas senior Chris Harris.

After the game, Gill and Kansas football players will be available for autographs on the field. There will be a limit of one item per person to be autographed. Jayhawk fans can then head to downtown Lawrence for the HyVee Hawk Zone, live music, street entertainment, food and shopping.
