POSITION TITLE: Athletic Trainer

STARTING DATE: July 1, 2005

APPOINTMENT: Full Time

SALARY: Commensurate with experience

Responsible for the sports medicine needs of the student-athletes of the Women’s Basketball program. Work closely with sport coaches, strength coaches, physicians and medical facilities concerning the student-athletes health and wellness. May serve as a classroom and/or lab instructor and mentor students within the undergraduate athletic training major, participate in the athletic training major curriculum as an approved clinical instructor providing direct supervision of athletic training students completing clinical experience practicum in KUAC athletic training facilities and supervise a GA Athletic Trainer.

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED: Master’s Degree in Athletic Training, Physical Education, Health or related field;Two (2) years of experience as university/college athletic trainer;Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) with NATABOC;Licensed Athletic Trainer (LAT) with State of Kansas Board of Healing Arts (eligible)

PREFERED: 2 – 4 years experience working with Women’s Basketball; Physical therapist, PT assistant and/or CSCS
