Angel Goodrich Cleared For Full Participation

LAWRENCE, Kan. –

Kansas women’s basketball freshman guard Angel Goodrich was medically cleared Wednesday for full participation following nearly six months of rehabilitation after having knee surgery in October of 2008 for a torn Anterior Cruciate Ligament in her left knee.

Goodrich, a 2008 WBCA High School All-American, injured her knee in KU’s second practice of the season on Oct. 19, 2008. She had reconstructive surgery on Oct., 29, 2008 and has been diligently rehabbing in the months following.

The Tahlequah, Okla., native, will receive a medical redshirt for the 2008-09 season and will have four seasons of eligibility remaining. She joins eight letterwinners, including four starters, returning from last season’s 22-14 team that advanced to the 2009 WNIT Championship game. The Jayhawks are also adding six signees for the upcoming season.
