Jayhawks Tie Iowa State, Lose to Iowa in Spring Soccer Action

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Freshman Ingrid Vidal recorded Kansas soccer’s lone goal Sunday to help the Jayhawks to a 1-1 tie versus Iowa State. KU dropped its first game of the day 3-0 to host Iowa.

With Sunday’s results, Kansas is 3-1-1 during its spring slate. The Jayhawks play their final contest on Sunday, April 22 when they welcome Missouri State. Kick-off is at 2 p.m. at the Jayhawks Soccer Complex and admission is free.

Against Iowa, both teams remained scoreless after the first half. In the last 45 minutes however, the Hawkeyes capitalized on its opportunities scoring three times while the KU offense could not find an answer.

Less than an hour after the conclusion of the first contest, Kansas squared off with Big 12 foe Iowa State in its second game of the day. Again the teams were tied 0-0 through the first half before getting on the scoreboard in the second frame. Vidal struck first finding the back of the net on a free kick. About 10 minutes later ISU knotted the score with a goal of its own.
