Erin Brogan Selected to Attend USRowing Women's National Team Freshman Camp

PRINCETON, N.J. – Kansas freshman rower Erin Brogan is one of 24 student-athletes from around the country selected to attend the 2012 USRowing Women’s National Team Freshman Camp it was announced Tuesday by USRowing.
The freshman camp is for athletes with elite level potential and aspirations, but who have only one, or perhaps two, years of collegiate rowing experience. The goal is to expose the athlete to the National Team experience training two to three times per day, row in all boat categories, learn technical and physiological basics and train with athletes of a similar caliber.
Brogan, a Haddonfield, N.J., native has been a member of the First Varsity Eight throughout her first campaign at KU, which is an incredible accomplishment for a freshman.
The freshman camp will be held at the University of Washington in Seattle, Wash. Conor Bullis, women’s varsity assistant coach at the University of Washington, will run the camp and will be assisted by Jenny Park, former UW rower and National Team contender. The camp is scheduled for June 11-17th.
USRowing is a nonprofit organization recognized by the United States Olympic Committee as the governing body for the sport of rowing in the United States.
Brogan and the Jayhawks have the weekend off from competition before KU heads to Oklahoma City, Okla. for the Big 12 Championship on April 28.
