EMPLOYMENT VERIFICATION AND REFERENCES
Employment verifications are the responsibility of the Human Resources Department. All inquiries regarding a former employee’s employment at KUAC should be directed to the Director of Human Resources. Upon inquiry of any individual, the following information may be released for non-student employees only, without written authorization:
• The name of the employee
• Job description and duties
• Dates of employment
• Pay level
Under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and its implementing regulations, personally identifiable employment information from student records may not be disclosed without the student’s written authorization.
When asked for a reference on a present or former employee by a prospective external employer, supervisors may only provide employment verification as indicated above. Supervisors will not provide information to prospective external employers on an employee’s work performance unless the present or former employee provides written authorization. The Director of Human Resources has reference release forms and must be contacted for reference information. All responses to employment inquiries, whether verification or references, will be truthful and straightforward and will relate to the employee’s job performance and performance evaluations.

I understand that the information released will be, to the evaluator’s best knowledge, honest, accurate, and consistent with written performance evaluations.
