Weaver to Guest Host Rock Chalk Sports Talk on Thursday, April 20

LAWRENCE, Kan. –

Kansas Relays Meet Director Tim Weaver will be the guest host on 1320 KLWN’s Rock Chalk Sports Talk with Brian Hanni. The program runs from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, the first day of the Kansas Relays at Memorial Stadium. The Relays continue all day Friday and Saturday, highlighted by GOLDZONE II from 2-5 p.m. on the final day. Weaver will be answering questions from callers, handing out prizes and talking about the Relays weekend and all things track and field. Several Olympians who will be competing in GOLDZONE II will be guests on the show. Callers should call 785-843-1321.

Seriously, his passion for track and field, his experience in the sport on the international level and personality will shine through on the broadcast and do a great deal to raise awareness of just how special this year’s GOLDZONE event will be.”

The 2006 Kansas Relays is playing host to 36 Olympians including a showdown of Olympic 100-meter champions Maurice Greene and Justin Gatlin. In the women’s Invitational 100-meter dash, world champions will clash as Olympians Allyson Felix and Muna Lee takes lanes four and five against a deep and talented field. In all, 110 champions will compete in the three hour meet-within-a-meet which will be opened by a Marching Cobras performance.
