Tyler Docking Named Academic All-Big 12 First Team

Senior Tyler Docking has been named to the 2007 Academic All-Big 12 Men’s Golf Team. This marks the second time that Docking has won the honor. He was also apart of of the 2005 Academic All-Big 12 team.

Docking has sparkled in his senior season accumulating a scoring average of 73.12 and amassing six top-10 finishes during the year. Docking’s top finish of the year came at the All-American Golf Classic where he finished in second place. He played a key role in the three Jayhawk team victories this year.

“Tyler truly embodies the word student-athlete,” said head coach Ross Randall. “He does everything we ask of him as a golfer and in the classroom. His major is very difficult and he has done a great job of balancing his time and excelling both on the golf course and in school.

To be eligible for such an award the student-athlete must maintain a GPA of at least a 3.20.

Docking, along with his Jayhawk teammates, will next be in action on April 23-24 when they travel to Hutchinson, Kan. to compete in the 2007 Big 12 Men’s Golf Championship.
