Jayhawks Take Two of Three at Spring Tournament

KANSAS CITY, Mo. –

The Kansas volleyball team went 2-1 last Saturday during spring competition held at Parkhill South High School in Kansas City.

The event, which was hosted by Kansas State, included a youth clinic conducted by all participating teams before the tournament.

The Jayhawks swept both Colorado State and Creighton, 2-0, while falling to St. Louis in two sets.

Juniors Karina Garlington and Jenna Kaiser starred for the Jayhawks during weekend with 22 and 15 kills, respectively, over the three matches. Junior Melissa Manda added 25 digs during the tournament.

Kansas has concluded its spring competition and will now look to prepare for the 2009 season.
