Kansas Softball To Host Bark In The Park And Club Softball Day

LAWRENCE, Kan. –

Back for the third year in a row, <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = “urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags” />Kansas softball will hold its annual Bark in the Park Saturday, April 26 at Arrocha Ballpark. The Jayhawks will host OklahomaState at 2 p.m. in the first contest of a two-game series this weekend.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = “urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office” />

Fans are encouraged to bring their dogs out to enjoy a day at the ballpark. Dogs will be admitted with a donation to benefit the Lawrence Humane Society. The Lawrence Humane Society wish list includes items such as cat litter, towels, dog and cat toys, collars, and cash. Volunteers from the Lawrence Humane Society will be on hand to accept donations and will be joined by dogs currently available for adoption.

In addition, fans in attendance will have the chance to enter a free drawing for a $100 gift certificate to Pet World. Bark in the Park flying discs will be distributed after the game. All dog handlers will be required to sign a waiver and an agreement to participate.

The Jayhawks will conclude their Big 12 Conference series with OklahomaState on Sunday, April 27 at 1 p.m. Kansas will welcome area youth softball players to Arrocha Ballpark for club softball day. All club softball players will receive admission for just $3 when wearing their club jersey or t-shirt.
