LAWRENCE, Kan. –

Freshman Victoria Khanevskaya will look to continue her four-match winning streak when the Kansas tennis team hosts No. 70 Texas Tech on Friday, April 23 at 2 p.m.

Khanevskaya has tallied wins over Missouri, Colorado, Oklahoma State and Oklahoma in the last two weeks after starting Big 12 play 0-5.

“I was disappointed in my performance in the first part of the season,” said Khanevskaya. “I’ve tried to change my mental approach and come out with more energy for every match.”

Despite Khanevskaya’s hot streak, the Jayhawks have struggled in Big 12 action, falling in the last six contests.

The No. 1 doubles team of sophomores Ekaterina Morozova and Erin Wilbert provide a strong force for the team with a 7-6 overall record and a 5-4 record in Big 12 play. They will look to improve their record when they face Texas Tech’s No. 78 Kelsy Garland and Natalie Leitch.

Texas Tech enters the match with a 9-10 record, including a 4-5 mark in the Big 12, while Kansas is 9-12 and 1-8.

In the all-time series, Texas Tech owns a 9-8 advantage overall and a 5-4 advantage in Lawrence.

The Jayhawks will end their regular season when they host No. 2 Baylor on Sunday, April 25 at 11 a.m. Before the match, senior Kunigunda Dorn will be honored for all of her achievements during her four years at Kansas.
