Kansas softball makes its final Big 12 Conference road trip of the season when it heads to Iowa State this week, April 22-23. Friday’s contest between the Jayhawks (28-19, 1-13 Big 12) and Cyclones (19-20, 1-7 Big 12) is slated for 4 p.m. The series concludes on Saturday with a contest at noon.

The Jayhawks currently rank 10th, just under Iowa State, in the Big 12 Conference standings but a sweep of the Cyclones in this week’s series would push Kansas ahead of ISU.

Sophomore Maggie Hull has five hits over the last four games and leads the Jayhawks with a .340 batting average on the season while her 43 RBIs are eighth-best in the Big 12. Fellow sophomore Alex Jones is riding a four-game hitting streak entering the ISU series and leads the team with 49 hits and 14 stolen bases. Senior Brittany Hile, who is second for Kansas hitting .333, is tied for fifth in the Big 12 and ranks in the top 25 nationally with 13 home runs. She is also batting .436 in true road contests, more than 100 points better than her season average.
