Despite the lopsided score, 63rd-ranked Kansas competed well with the Longhorns in singles play, sending several matches into tiebreak situations. Notching KU’s only point, however, was Christine Skoda, who defeated Texas’ Courtney Zauft, 6-2, 6-7 (5), 1-0 (14-12), in the No. 3 singles position.

Skoda, the Jayhawk’s lone senior, finishes her spring season with a 14-9 overall record in singles play and a 6-5 mark in league action. The Edmonton, Alberta native closed out dual match play by winning eight-of-ten singles contests.

Kansas will begin play in the Big 12 Championships on Thursday in Waco, Texas at a time still to be announced. Specific seeds and pairings will be released by the Big 12 later tonight after all conference matches have been completed.
