Women's Basketball Teams With Cottonwood For Walk A Mile In My Shoes

LAWRENCE, Kan. –

Members of the Kansas women’s basketball team took time of their busy schedules on Friday afternoon to participate in the “Walk a Mile in My Shoes” program along with members of Cottonwood. “Walk a Mile in My Shoes,” a statewide relay to bring awareness to the more than 4,300 persons with developmental disabilities in Kansas on the waiting list for services.

Freshmen Tania Jackson and Monica Engelman, redshirt freshmen Angel Goodrich, sophomore Aishah Sutherland, senior Sade Morris along with KU head coach Bonnie Henrickson, assistant coach Tory Verdi, director of operations Trena Anderson, assistant director of operations Katie Capps and graduate student assistant Jamie Boyd each joined the members of the Cottonwood community in DeSoto as the baton was passed from Douglas County to Johnson County.

The Jayhawks took part in the walk and then ate lunch with the group and signed autographs before concluding the event with a group photo.
