Kansas Women's Golf Slips into 11th Place at Big 12 Championship

COLUMBIA, Mo.—Thanuttra Boonraksasat sank three birdies to finish one-over par and lead Kansas women’s golf into 11th place after the second round of the 2011 Big 12 Championship at Old Hawthorne Golf Course in Columbia, Mo., Saturday. The freshman’s 73 moves her into a tie for 24th with a 149 through two rounds.

Senior Meghna Bal double bogeyed the opening hole before making par on the next 10 holes, but was unable to capitalize and finished the round with a 78. Bal is tied for 34th with a 36-hole 151.

Both junior Katy Nugent and senior Grace Thiry remained consistent as each carded a 77 for the second consecutive day. The duo is tied for 44th.

After shooting an 84 in the second round, freshman Meghan Potee is in 58th place with a 160 through two rounds.

The Jayhawks will compete in the third and final round of the 2011 Big 12 Championship on Sunday.
