NORMAN, Okla. – Four days after defeating Iowa State to finish the regular season, the Kansas women’s tennis team will take on the Cyclones again at 10 a.m. Thursday in round one of the Big 12 Championships, hosted by Oklahoma at Headington Family Tennis Center. The Jayhawks (10-9, 2-7 Big 12) earned back-to-back home victories this past weekend over West Virginia, 6-1, and the Cyclones, 4-3, marking their first wins in Big 12 play since April 2011. The winner of the match between eighth-seeded Kansas and ninth-seeded Iowa State will face No. 1 seed Baylor at 9 a.m. in Friday’s quarterfinal. “It’s always good to see your opponent beforehand because in tennis, you don’t always get a lot of notes and video and things like that,” head coach Amy Hall-Holt said. “We need to continue our momentum into practice this week and take it into the first round.”Kansas is 38-3 all-time against Iowa State (8-14, 1-8 Big 12), earning victories over the Cyclones in 36 of the past 37 meetings.
