Ludueña Named First Team Academic All-Big 12

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas sophomore Maria Belen Ludueña was named a member of the 2013 First Team Academic All-Big 12 Tuesday, which featured a total of 25 female student-athletes from around the conference.

Ludueña, a native of Curico, Chile, will complete her third semester at Kansas next month after joining the women’s tennis program at the beginning of the 2012 calendar year. She is currently pursuing a degree in both business and economics.

First-team members consist of student-athletes who have kept a 3.2 GPA or better and have participated in at least 60 percent of their team’s scheduled matches. Ludueña played at the No. 1 singles and doubles positions for the final four dual matches of the season, finishing conference play with a 3-6 record in singles and a 4-4 mark in doubles.
