Kansas Heads to No. 16 Minnesota for Weekend Dual

April 24, 2008

Kansas rowing will be in St. Paul, Minn., for a Saturday morning dual against the Minnesota Golden Gophers. It is Kansas’ tune up before the Big 12 Invitational. The dual is tentatively scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. along Lake Phalen, however, expected strong morning winds could delay the start time.

Minnesota, led by Wendy Davis in her eighth season as the Minnesota head coach, is ranked 16th according to the latest Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association/USRowing poll. Minnesota is also the defending Big 10 Champion, as they won the 2007 title from six other Big 10 Conference participants.

Last year, KU battled Minnesota well, however, the Jayhawks failed to record a victory against the Big 10 powerhouse.
