Jayhawks Finish 12th at the 2010 Big 12 Championship

TRINITY, Texas –
Nate Barbee and Alex Gutesha each carded final round 74’s to lead the Kansas men’s golf team during the final round at the 2010 Big 12 Championship at Whispering Pines Golf Club.
The Jayhawks finished 12th after shooting a 302 in round four. Oklahoma State shot the low round of the day with a 282 and cruised to their fourth-straight Big 12 Championship.
Barbee was the top-finisher for KU by tying for 27th place. Gutesha improved on his third round score by 10 strokes and tied for 50th.
Freshman Chris Gilbert wrapped up a solid first career Big 12 Championship with a 75 and tied for 34th. Senior Bryan Hackenberg shot an 83 to finish 58th. Freshman Dan Waite duplicated his top score of the tournament with a 79 and finished 60th.
Texas Tech’s Chris Ward shot a 74 to hold off Peter Uihlein of Oklahoma State by two strokes and win medalist honors. Four players from the tournament winning Oklahoma State Cowboys notched top-10 finishes.
