Kansas-Baylor Postpones Friday Game to Saturday Doubleheader

April 26, 2013

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Weather has intercepted another Kansas softball agenda as the three-game series with Top-25 Baylor has been changed to a Saturday doubleheader at 12 and 2 p.m. and a single game at noon on Sunday at Arrocha Ballpark.

The series opener with the Bears was originally scheduled for Friday at 6 p.m. with game two slated for Saturday at 2 p.m. and the series finale on Sunday at noon. However, due to rain and continued storms in the forecast, the games will now be Saturday (12/2 p.m.) with Sunday’s game unchanged (12 p.m.).

Weekend promotions `Bark in the Park’ and `Jayhawks for a Cure Orange Game’ also remain unchanged. On Saturday, Kansas fans can bring a dog to the game with a donation to the Lawrence Humane Society. Suggested donations can be found on the LHS wish list.

On Sunday, Kansas softball will host its annual `Jayhawks for a Cure’ event, with this year’s honoring Paul Buske, the late husband of head coach Megan Smith, and other victims, fighters and survivors of kidney cancer. Fans wearing orange will be admitted for $3, and those in attendance will also receive a limited edition orange Jayhawks for a Cure wristband. Donations will be accepted at the gate, and all proceeds will benefit Lawrence Memorial Hospital, and KU Cancer Center.
