Kansas Baseball Adjusts Chicago State Series

April 27, 2009

LAWRENCE, Kan. –

Due to the likeliness of inclement weather Wednesday, the Kansas baseball team has modified the series with Chicago State. The Jayhawks and Cougars will now play a doubleheader on Tuesday beginning at 3 p.m., with the second game starting approximately 30 minutes after the completion of the first contest.

This marks the third time this season that KU (29-15) has been forced to play a doubleheader due to weather concerns. The Jayhawks have swept both games in the previous two situations against Northwestern (March 6) and this past weekend against Nebraska.

This marks the third straight year that the Jayhawks have played Division I Independent Chicago State. KU holds a 9-0 record in the series, which dates back to 1993. Last season, the Jayhawks swept a two-game midweek series, winning 6-4 and 12-0.
