Two Jayhawks Named to Academic All-Big 12 Team for Tennis

April 17, 2009

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Two University of Kansas student-athletes were named Academic All-Big 12, the conference office announced on Friday.

Senior Edina Horvath and junior Kunigunda Dorn were both named to the first team.

Dorn, a Sopron, Hungary, native, is on the All-Academic team for the second time in her career. The Strategic Communications major also received the honor in 2007.

This season is the first time Horvath, a Finance major, has made the team.

Horvath plays at the No. 1 doubles and singles positions for KU, while Dorn competes at the No. 3 doubles and No. 4 singles.

Kansas hosts the last two matches of the regular season when No. 31 Texas and No. 33 Texas A&M come to Lawrence, Kan. this weekend. The Jayhawks face the Longhorns on April 18 and the Aggies on April 19. Match times are set for 12 p.m. and 11 a.m., respectively.
