Kansas Rowing to Compete in Big 12 Championship Saturday

April 29, 2010

LAWRENCE, Kan.—Kansas rowing will compete in the second Big 12 Championship on Saturday, May 1, in Oklahoma City, Okla. The Jayhawks hosted the inaugural Big 12 Championship last season at Wyandotte County Lake and placed third in the event.

Kansas will face Kansas State, Oklahoma and Texas. The Longhorns won last seasons competition with 51 points, Kansas State was second with 48 points and The Jayhawks were third with 45 points. The Sooners weren’t included in the scoring because they did not field a large enough varsity team. Oklahoma will factor into this year’s scoring.

The Jayhawks will next compete in the first ever Conference USA Rowing Championship at the South-Central Regional Regatta in Oak Ridge, Tenn., on May 15 and 16.
