Kansas-Oklahoma Baseball Finale Cancelled Due to Rain

April 29, 2012

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Due to heavy rain in the Lawrence area overnight and with more forecast throughout the day Sunday, the baseball series finale between Kansas and Oklahoma has been cancelled. The teams will not make the game up due to the Big 12’s travel policy.

Originally scheduled for a noon first pitch, the Jayhawks were looking to salvage the third game of the series after OU won 4-1 on Friday and 8-2 Saturday evening. Friday’s game was interrupted by weather for one hour, 38 minutes, but completed later that evening.

The Jayhawks (17-28 overall, 4-13 in Big 12) will return to action on Tuesday at 6 p.m., when the team travels to Little Rock, Ark., to open a two-game midweek series with UALR.
