The University of Kansas (33-18, 10-11 Big 12) will travel to Austin, Texas to face the Texas Longhorns (33-15, 16-4 Big 12) this weekend. First pitch on Friday, May 5, is set for 6:15 p.m. Saturday’s game is set for 2 p.m. with Sunday’s series final scheduled for 1 p.m.
A Look at Texas
Last years College World Series champions got off the a slow start but have long since rebounded to post 16 Big 12 victories and currently sit in second place, and percentage points behind Nebraska. Texas carries a 3.65 staff ERA led by ace Kyle McCulloch who has a 2.85 ERA and a 7-4 record. Preseason All-American Drew Stubbs has a team-high 11 homers and 51 runs.

After a mid-week game against Missouri State in Springfield, Mo., on Wednesday, April 10, KU will return to Lawrence to host the Jayhawk Classic at Hoglund Ballpark. Northern Colorado and Bradley will play the first game of the classic at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 12 while KU and Bradley will meet at 7 p.m. on May 12. After Bradley and UNC play at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 12, the Jayhawks will face UNC at 7 p.m. The classic will conclude with a 1 p.m. game between the Jayhawks and UNC Bears at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
