LAWRENCE, Kan. –
Kansas swimming and diving released its 2009-2010 schedule Tuesday afternoon. The schedule features four home duals, including home tilts against Big 12 North rivals Nebraska and Missouri.
Kansas opens the season on October 16 with the Big 12 Relays in Columbia, Mo. Following the Big 12 Relays, the Jayhawks will travel south to Fayetteville, Ark., to face two SEC foes, Arkansas and Florida, on October 24.
KU will host its first duals at Robinson Natatorium over the October 30-31 weekend. The Jayhawks will host Missouri on October 30 and Nebraska-Omaha the following day. One week later, KU will travel to Springfield, Mo., to face Drury in its last dual of 2009.
Kansas will travel to two major invitational meets in late 2009. The diving team will participate in the Houston Invite November 20-22 and the swimming team will travel to the UVA Invite in Charlottesville, Va., December 3-5.
As is the case every winter, KU will travel to a warmer climate for its winter training. In 2010, the destination is Los Angeles, Calif. KU will face four teams in early January from the West Coast: UCLA, Fresno State, Loyola Marymount and UC-San Diego.
Upon the Jayhawks’ return from California, the team will host two duals on January 16 and 23. The Nebraska Cornhuskers will visit on the 16th, and South Dakota and Northern Iowa will participate in a triangular dual on the 23rd for Senior Day.
KU will conclude its regular season with its yearly dual against Iowa State in Ames, Iowa on February 5-6.
The Big 12 Championships will be held in College Station, Texas from February 24-27 and the NCAA Championships will take place in West Lafayette, Ind., March 18-20.
