Kansas Lands Two on CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Juniors Maggie and Rosie Hull represented the Kansas softball team on district seven when the Capital One Academic All-District teams were announced Friday by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Twin sisters and natives of Lawrence, Kan., the junior outfielders are the first Jayhawk softball players to be recognized since Val Chapple was named Second Team Academic All-America in 2009.

Both were named to the Academic All-Big 12 First Team last season before collecting their first national academic recognition on Friday.

Current Big 12 batting leader, Maggie Hull has started all but two games this season in left field and also holds a 3.74 GPA as a double major in Journalism and Spanish. Rosie Hull carries a 3.82 GPA in human biology and has made 37 starts for the Jayhawks primarily in the designated hitter position.

The pair of student-athletes are among seven Big 12 players honored on the team as Texas Tech was the only other school with multiple selections. All-district selections are all eligible to advance to the All-American round which will be announced later in the season.
