Kansas Softball NLI Signee Breaks State Record For Hits

May 6, 2009

The state of Kansas has a new career hits record holder in Kendall Patterson, a Kansas softball national letter of intent signee who will join the Jayhawks for the 2009-10 academic year. Patterson has 153 hits for her career with several games still to be played this season.

A catcher for McLouth High School, Patterson broke the record on Tuesday, May 5 in a doubleheader at Holton.

The four-year starter finished 6-for-7 from the plate in the twinbill and took sole possession of the record with a two-run home run in the first inning of the day. Patterson topped the previous mark set by Kristin Doffing of Campus, who finished her career with 147 hits in 1999.
