Jobe Named Academic All-District

LAWRENCE, Kan. –

Kansas softball senior Amanda Jobe was named ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Second Team, it was announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Jobe, a biology major who plans to attend medical school, has maintained a 3.9 cumulative GPA through her college career. Earlier this season she was awarded Outstanding Woman Student in Athletics by the University of Kansas. She has also garnered Academic All-Big 12 First Team accolades in each of the past two seasons.

The Shawnee, Kan., native has started all 53 games at first base this season. Jobe ranks second all-time at KU with 93 career walks, while her 20 career home runs are the sixth in program history. In 2007 and 2008, she was selected to the All-Big 12 Second Team.

This weekend, May 8-9, Jobe and four other seniors will be playing their final home games at Arrocha Ballpark. The Jayhawks host Iowa State at 2 p.m. Saturday and noon on Sunday.
