POSITION TITLE: Assistant Coach
STARTING DATE: June 1, 2007 or as soon as possible
APPOINTMENT: Full time
DUTIES: Assist in maintaining a top quality comprehensive strength and conditioning program for the University of Kansas Athletic Department. Adhere to the standards established by the Director of Strength and Conditioning including utilizing recommended weight training, conditioning, flexibility, plyometrics and nutrition. Communicate with the Director of Strength and Conditioning, coaching staff, and sports medicine staff regarding aspects of the student-athletes’ nutrition, progress of training, and injuries.
QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree, prior experience in strength and conditioning; strength training, Olympic lifts, plyometrics, speed development, conditioning, flexibility and nutrition, previous coaching experience at the collegiate or professional level. NSCA certification (CSCS) within one year of employment.
PREFERRED: NSCA certification (CSCS) or equivalent to be determined by Director of S & C plus Head Team Physician, three years experience in strength and conditioning.
