With one out in a tie game, Price singled to center field following a Nick Faunce double to power Kansas to a dramatic victory.

Kansas’ offense struggled until the fourth inning, but ended the game with 13 hits, including back to back home runs for the first time since March 14, 2008. Tony Thompson and Nick Faunce both went long in the seventh inning to erase the one-run deficit.

Missouri tied it up in the top of the eighth inning, but junior Paul Smyth pitched three up, three down in the top of the ninth to give KU the chance for the win.

The two teams will play the second game of a doubleheader starting approximately 3:45 p.m.
