Kansas Head Coach Ritch Price:

On Robby Price’s injury:

“I think he showed some toughness (in the first game). Obviously it (his shoulder) popped out on him twice during the game and Ken (Wainwright, Kansas Athletic trainer) was able to get it back in for him. To clutch up like that late in the game speaks volumes about how tough the kid is.”

On the second game loss:

“It completely ruins the whole day, there’s no doubt about that. Obviously, you know going into the game that (Kyle) Gibson is pitching, and when he is on the mound, you’re going to have to keep (Missouri) to five runs or less to have a chance. We weren’t even competitive. We had an awful starting pitching performance; we got into a hole early and could never even get into the game.”

On how Missouri pitcher Kyle Gibson controlled the Jayhawks at the plate:

“He’s got a good fastball and a good slider. He used his changeup to the left-handers and he had those guys jumping at his fastball because he’s got plus velocity. They’re reading fastball out of hand.”

On KU’s Big 12 Championship chances:

“Without question, if we win the series (against KansasState), we will be in. This team has done a really nice job of overachieving with the injuries we have had. We’ve had some deficiencies on the mound and in the bullpen a little bit, but the fact that we’ve won 30 games and have a chance to finish seventh with the loss of two of our weekend starters, that’s a pretty good accomplishment for our team.”
