Nate Barbee Finishes Strong at NCAA Regional

Junior Nate Barbee capped off his first career NCAA Tournament appearance, representing the Kansas men’s golf team as an individual, by firing a 71 in the final round to move up the leaderboard 22 spots and finish the event tied for 39th at Carlton Oaks Golf Club.

Barbee’s third round was his best of the event and the Dakota Dunes, S.D. native finished the three-round event with 226 strokes.

Barbee finished off his stellar junior campaign that included eight top-10 finishes and a victory at the Kansas Invitational. He was the first Jayhawk to compete in the NCAA Tournament since the team qualified in 2007.

Oregon won the Southwest Regional by ten strokes over Augusta State. Nick Delio of CSU-Northridge won medalist honors by one stroke over Oregon’s Daniel Miernicki.
