KU's Clark Is Alternate for US Women's Amateur Event

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas women’s golfer Jennifer Clark is an alternate for the U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links Championship after her performance at the sectional qualifying this week.

Clark, a senior-to-be for the Jayhawks shot a 72 to force a playoff for the final qualifier at the Shoal Creek Golf Course in Kansas City on Tuesday. She made a par on the first playoff hole for the final spot, but it was not enough as she lost the hole. Clark will now wait to hear if a spot opens up for the championship.

The championship will take place at the Warren Course at Notre Dame, June 21-26.

This past season, Clark, a Kansas City, Kan. native, was fourth on the team in scoring average at 78.77. Her best finish was a tie for 29th at the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational.
