Kansas Soccer Announces 2005 Schedule

June 7, 2005

COMPLETE SCHEDULE

LAWRENCE, Kan. — After completing the most successful season in school history last season, the University of Kansas soccer team will attempt to defend its Big 12 Championship with one of the most difficult schedules in school history.

The schedule features 12 games that will be played at KU’s home field, the Jayhawk Soccer Complex. Eight of the Jayhawks’ 2005 opponents qualified for the NCAA Tournament a season ago.

Highlighting the schedule will be three games against teams from the Big 10 Conference, including two matches at home — Michigan on August 26 and Wisconsin on August 28. Of the most intriguing match-ups of KU’s Big 12 schedule will be on September 25, as the Jayhawks host the 2004 Co-Big 12 Champion Texas A&M Aggies at the Jayhawk Soccer Complex at 1 p.m. Last season, Kansas and Texas A&M shared the league crown as each team completed the season with an 8-2 conference mark.
