Position Title: Staff Accountant

Starting Date: July 1, 2005

Appointment: Full-time

Starting Salary: $35,000 – $40,000

Duties:

•Prepare and submit monthly bank reconciliation’s for review on all accounts assigned.

•Daily posting of all deposits.

•Record and prepare accounts receivable billing, invoicing, and statements monthly.

•Prepare and file electronically monthly sales tax report for corporation.

•Generate, distribute, and answer questions about monthly financial statements to dept. heads.

•Perform general ledger reconciliation’s for review monthly, quarterly, and annually.

•Reconcile state fund accounts monthly.

•Designated backup for front desk specialist.

•Prepare and document daily deposit for Business Office when needed. Director will post this daily deposit to maintain internal controls.

•Perform miscellaneous projects and tasks as directed by the Director of Business Operations.

Qualifications:

Required: Bachelor degree in Accounting or Business degree with an emphasis in accounting; three years of staff/general accounting work experience; working knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices, principles and procedures; good public relations, communication and organizational skills; basic office equipment knowledge; proficiency in excel and word processing; ability to handle multiple tasks and work independently.

Preferred: Knowledge of Great Plains Accounting, Paciolan and/or PeopleSoft software and state sales tax laws.
