Lawrence-Kan. –

Kansas head coach Clark Campbell announced Thursday his team’s official schedule for the upcoming 2011-12 season. The Jayhawks will compete in four home dual meets including one against rival Missouri, Friday, November 11 at 5pm. Campbell’s squad will make two trips to Columbia following the Tigers’ visit to Lawrence, its first being for the Mizzou Invite (December 2-4) and the second for the Big 12 Championships (February 22-25).

The upcoming season’s schedule will also feature dual meets against non-conference opponents Minnesota (October 21), Illinois (October 29), Nebraska-Omaha (November 19) and former Big 12 foe Nebraska on January 14. KU will take on Arizona and UNLV in their first double-dual meet of the season Saturday, October 8th and will continue double-dual competition with Northern Iowa and North Dakota (October 22), as well as Arkansas and North Texas on Saturday, January 21. Arizona, Northern Iowa, North Dakota and Arkansas are all familiar opponents for KU as those four schools were on its schedule for dual meets last season.

The team will take a break from competition after the New Year and will travel to Mayaguez, Puerto Rico from January 3-January 10, 2012 for a special training trip.

Kansas will close out the 2011-12 regular season with a two-day dual meet against Iowa State in Ames Friday, February 3rd-Saturday, February 4. The Jayhawks concluded last year’s schedule in the same fashion against the Cyclones, but in Lawrence.

Clark Campbell’s crew is a combined 4-3 against returning opponents from last season’s schedule, with its only losses coming against Arizona, Arkansas and Missouri. Kansas went undefeated against Northern Iowa, North Dakota, Nebraska and Iowa State.

The unofficial start to the 2011-12 season begins with an intrasquad meet on Friday, September 30 in Lawrence on K-Day. That meet will also mark the dedication of the swimming and diving team’s newly renovated locker room.
