Position Title: Athletic Trainer-Graduate Assistant

Starting Date: As soon as possible following offer

Appointment: One year that is renewable for 1 additional year

Salary: $1,966.67 per month; Malpractice Liability Insurance; NATA Dues, Kansas State Board of Healing Arts Licensure Fee and Annual Dues.

Duties: Organization and supervision of health care delivery to student-athletes under the supervision of the Director of Sports Medicine, and staff athletic trainers. Responsibilities include injury prevention, evaluation, recognition, emergency care and referral, physical rehabilitation, and travel with assigned teams. Provide a progressive educational experience and serve as an approved clinical instructor for students pursuing the athletic training major that is CAAHEP accredited.

Qualifications:

Required: Bachelor’s degree in athletic training, physical education, health or related field. BOC certified athletic trainer (ATC) by July 1, 2009. Eligible for licensure as an athletic trainer (LAT) with The Kansas State Board of Healing Arts. GRE score of at least 1000, no sub-score below 450, and minimum analytical score of 4.0. Admission to KU graduate school. Applicants already admitted to the graduate school will be given priority. Graduate school applications MUST be submitted in order to be considered as a candidate.

Preferred: Applicants that have completed their undergraduate degree from a CAAHEP accredited program.
