Hagan and Stringer Join Kansas Volleyball Team

LAWRENCE, Kan. –

Lauren Hagan out of Whitesville, Ky., and Corrinne Stringer from Topeka, Kan., will join the Kansas volleyball team for the 2008-09 academic year as announced by head coach Ray Bechard.

A 6-foot-1 outside hitter, Hagan attended Owensboro Catholic High School where she was selected the region player of the year her senior season and named to the all-state and all-state tournament teams in 2007. Hagan was also a four-time academic all-state honoree and holds the Aces’ school record in kills per game.

Another outside hitter, 6-foot Stringer hails from Hayden High School where she was the 4A player of the year and a three-time all-state selection. In 2007, she helped lead HHS to a state championship and earned all-tournament team accolades. Recently, Stringer received the Judy Bellomo Most Inspirational Award in the Kansas Volleyball Association all-star match.

Hagan and Stringer join Allison Mayfield (OH, Overland Park, Kan.) and Nicole Tate (S, St. Louis, Mo.) as newcomers on this year’s Kansas volleyball squad.
