June 27, 2010

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Kansas senior-to-be Jennifer Clark tied for third in the Women’s Amateur of Kansas City Golf Championship Sunday.

Clark, a Kansas City, Kan. native, entered the second and final round just one shot off the pace. Clark opened the event with a two-over par 74 on Saturday before carding a 79 on Sunday for a 153 total. She saw Mary Kate Bird shoot a tournament record 149 en route to the victory.

Clark went out on the front nine at two over par. She struggled on the back nine, starting with a triple bogey on 10 and a bogey on the 11th hole to reach eight over par for the two days. After a par on 12, she birdied the 147-yard par three 13 to get back to seven over.

Three straight pars had her in position, but she finished with consecutive bogeys for a nine over tournament total.
