Powers Has Second Round Suspended Due To Weather And Darkness At US Open

EDINA, Minn. – Kansas junior-to-be golfer Emily Powers had her second round of the U.S. Women’s Open suspended due to darkness on Friday. The tournament was delayed due to weather earlier in the afternoon.
In all 36 of the 156 players in the field did not complete their second round.
Powers finished the day tied for 150th after completing 14 holes. She stands at 16 over par for the tournament after playing the first 14 holes at eight over on Friday. Powers opened the tournament with an 81 on Thursday.
Powers opened the second round on the back nine and carded a seven-over par 44. On Thursday she played that nine at even-par. With a par on the 18th hole, she played her final six holes of the day at one-over par with just a bogey on the second hole. She will complete holes six through nine on Saturday morning.
Angela Park is the leader in the clubhouse at six-under par. Three others are at five-under par. The expected cut is four-over par.
