Colombia will be making its Olympic debut in the event.

The duo has been training for the past month in Colombia under head coach Ricardo Rozo and made the squad’s final cut earlier this week. Next week, Salazar and Vidal will travel with their team to Switzerland to play in an international tournament in preparation for the Olympics.

“Obviously we are very excited for Liana and Ingrid,” said KU head coach Mark Francis. “They have worked extremely hard and it is a great opportunity for them to represent their country. It’s another experience that they can bring back and share with the team. Their approach to the game is very professional and the team can benefit from that. I look forward to watching them compete.”
