KU's Sydney Wilson is in Fifth Place at Kansas Women's Amateur Golf Championship

<?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>WICHITA, Kan. – Kansas redshirt freshman Sydney Wilson shot a second-round 74 and is in fifth place at the 85th Kansas Women’s Amateur Golf Championship at Reflection Ridge Golf Club just outside Wichita.

Wilson, from Lawrence, has a two-round total of 152 and is 10 strokes behind leader Elisa Houtz of Manhattan in the championship flight. Wilson is five strokes from second place heading into Wednesday’s final round.

KU redshirt freshman Alyssa Rainbolt, from Wichita, is also competing in the event and is in fourth place with a 158 (81-77) in the first flight. Rainbolt is four strokes from first flight leader Megan Bartlett of Grand Island, Neb., at 154.
