KU's Gockel Named To National Academic Golf Team For Fourth Time

LAWRENCE, Kan. – For the fourth time in her career, Kansas women’s golfer Meghan Gockel was named to the National Golf Coaches Association All-America Scholar Team. To qualify for the team, student-athletes must have a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 and compete in 50 percent of their team’s rounds.

Gockel, who was a senior this past season, earned a perfect 4.0 grade-point average her final year. Earlier this season Gockel was named to ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District At-Large team. The finance and accounting major is also a three-time Academic All-Big 12 selection.

The Dallas, Texas native played in every tournament for Kansas in 2009-10 and posted a scoring average of 78.
