KU Women's Golfers In Action This Week

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Jennifer Clark and Sydney Wilson, two members of the Kansas women’s golf team, played extremely well at the Kansas Women’s Golf Assocation Amateur Championship earlier this week.

Clark, a sophomore-to-be, won the event, while Wilson, also a sophomore-to-be, finished third. The tournament concluded on Thursday, July 17 at the Leavenworth Country Club

Clark, who is from Kansas City, Kan., shot 74-73-72 for a 219 total to defeat Tara Goedeken of Dodge City by one shot. Wilson, who is from Lawrence, carded a 79-74-72—226 to place third.

Alyssa Rainbolt, another member of the KU golf team, finished 19th with a 253 total.

Also earlier this week, another pair of Jayhawk golfers competed in the Women’s Trans National Golf Association Championship at Bent Tree Country Club in Dallas, Texas

Emily Powers won her first round match on Wednesday before being defeated in the round of 32 on Thursday, while teammate Meghan Gockel was dropped in the first round.
