Talib Named Preseason All-Big 12

LAWRENCE, Kan. — Kansas sophomore cornerback Aqib Talib was named to the Preseason All-Big 12 team by members of the league’s media, conference officials announced Friday. Talib, a native of Richardson, Texas, was an All-Big 12 Honorable-Mention selection in 2005 after compiling 54 total tackles, two interceptions and a team-leading eight pass break-ups.

Adrian Peterson (Oklahoma) was named Preseason Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive season, Rufus Alexander (Oklahoma) was selected Preseason Defensive Player of the Year and Sergio Kindle (Texas) was chosen Preseason Newcomer of the Year.
