Entry Fee: $100.00 per team or $10.00 per individual. Men’s and Women’s teams from the same school are considered separate teams. MAKE CHECKS PAYABLE TO: Kansas Athletics, Inc.
Entry: Entries due on August 24th. Coaches will make all entries on-line at www.directathletics.com . Unattached entries are allowed. You can get your username, password, and instructions for on-line entry at www.directathletics.com. Please only contact support@directathletics.com with on-line entry questions.
Entries are due by noon on Friday, August 24th.
Facilities: Rim Rock Farm is located 15 miles north of <?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>Lawrence. A map to the farm can be found at the www.kuathletics.com link to the cross country page. We suggest arriving dressed; no locker facilities are available.
Trainers: Will be available at the meet site in a tent located near the finish line.
Numbers: All participants must wear their bib number on the front of their jerseys. Do not pin the bottom section of the bib that pulls off. This will be removed in the chute.
Packet Pickup: You may pick up packets Saturday beginning at 8:00 AM at Rim Rock Farm at the trailer near the finish chute.
Course: New maps can be downloaded at the www.kuathletics.com link to the cross country page. The courses are well marked and monitored. The courses are mowed and chalked. A lead vehicle will be used in each race. You may preview the course on Friday, August 31st from 9am until 6pm.
Admission: There is no admission charge for Rim Rock Farm.
Chute Procedure and Scoring:
COACHES & ATHLETES NOTE CHUTE PROCEDURE FOR SCORING.
1) You may enter more than seven runners but only the top seven finishers will figure in team scoring.
2) All participants must enter chute.
3) All participants’ bib numbers will be recorded in the chute.
4) Each participant must stay in the chute until number has been recorded.
5) Unofficial results will be posted soon after each race.
Meet results will be available at the conclusion of the meet. Official results will be posted at www.kuathletics.com
Rules: A list of course rules are available on the cross country home page at kuathletics.com. These rules must be followed for the safety of athletes and spectators and for this event to continue its many successes. Please read these rules to your team and distribute them to parents and fans and bring a signed copy when you come to pick up your packet.
Awards: Individual awards will be presented to the top 20 finishers in both the men’s and women’s races. Team champions will receive a trophy.
Hotel: We recommend two local hotels that actively support our department: Hampton Inn (785-841-4994) and Holiday Inn Holidome (785-841-7077).
