LAWRENCE, Kan. –

Current Jayhawks Abigail Anderson, Brooke Brull, Joy Bunting, Shannon Garlie, Brittany Potter and Stephanie Payne will compete in the 2010 ConocoPhillips National Championships in Irvine, Calif. August 3-7 at the William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Complex. They will be joined by Danielle Herrmann, former KU standout and new Kansas volunteer assistant coach.

“This is a great opportunity for these athletes to go experience a meet of this magnitude,” Kansas head Coach Clark Campbell said. “Getting to go to Southern California and race against the best in the world will give them a new appreciation for this sport. We are very grateful to Kansas Athletics for the opportunity.”

At the meet, the athletes will be hoping to qualify for 2010 Speedo Junior National Championships and the 2010 Pan Pacific Championships by recording fast performances.
