KU Football Coach Mark Mangino Speaks at Annual BBQ in Topeka

<?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>TOPEKA, Kan. – University of Kansas head football coach Mark Mangino addressed more than 300 Jayhawk faithful at an annual summer barbeque at the Topeka Ramada Sunday evening.

Sponsored by the Topeka Jayhawk Club (TJC) and the Williams Educational Fund, Mangino and his wife Mary Jane, were welcomed by the TJC alumni band in addition to mingling, signing autographs and posing for photos with the KU fans.

“Mary Jane and I always look forward to this event,” Mangino said. “KU has great fans in Topeka and this event indicates that practice is right around the corner. Our players have been working hard all summer and are ready to get the season underway.”

Mangino will next appear August 17 at the Kansas City KU Football Kickoff at the CornithSquareShopping Center (83rd and Mission) in Prairie Village, Kan. The event runs from 6:30-10 p.m. and is sponsored by the KU Alumni Association, The KC Chapter Athletics Committee and the Williams Educational Fund.
